iTunes could not connect to the iPad because the pairing record is missing

iPad 2 Feb 27, 2012 5 Comments

I’ve been updating iPad 2 to iOS 5 and started to get following error message.

iTunes could not connect to the iPad because the pairing record is missing

No need to panic. This happens when your iPad is rebooting and it looses the pairing with iTunes on your PC.

When your iPad is rebooted and ready to be connected again or if it is not being rebooted and you get above error then follow these steps

iTunes could not connect to the iPad because the pairing record is missing

iTunes could not connect to the iPad because the pairing record is missing

1) Close the iTunes on your PC.

2) Disconnect the USB cable

3) Rebooted the iPad, or let it reboot if it is in the process of being rebooted.

If iPad is not being rebooted then ignore this step.

4) Reconnect usb cable

5) Restart iTunes or let it automatically restart if you have made it to restart automatically when USB cable is connected.

iPad and iTunes will be paired again.

It will also not pair if the iPad or phone is completely full! Manually remove some things until you have space to move items around and it will work! ( Granddaughter’s phone!)
