While working on a WordPress blog I lost Sidebar Widgets in the admin panel. All I did was to change the theme for this blog without changing anything.
I switched to Funki theme from an old theme. I like this theme as it is responsive, clean and perfect for a celebrity blog.
Here is how the Widgets Admin looks after it was messed up.
This is strange, I’ve never come across such problem before.
Sidebar widgets do show up in the front though.
Finding the culprit
The first step to go to the root of the problem was to revert back to default WordPress theme. This didn’t solve the problem. Sidebar widgets still don’t show up.
Next step was to disable all the plugins and enabling them one by one to find out which plugin was causing problem.
Disabling all plugins work. So it seems a plugin is causing the problem.
Google Analyticator plugin is the culprit
Enabling plugins one by one, I found that Google Analyticator plugin was causing the problem. This is really strange as I use this plugin and same theme on other blogs and it never caused any problem.
Any way I just completely removed Google Analyticator plugin. This plugin is undoubtedly the worst WordPress plugin.
